Agromart Terminals Inc. is an Agromart Group Joint-Venture which operates a Fertilizer Storage Terminal in Thorndale, ON and another in Oxford Station, close to Kemptville, ON. The business receives, stores and ships bulk fertilizer products to retail customers in Ontario and the Maritimes. 

We have an immediate opening for a HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR.  Reporting to Terminal Manager, you will handle, store, and distribute products for the Agromart retail businesses.  The delivery of this service will be though the use of heavy equipment operations and various duties required to deliver products and services in a professional, efficient, and safe manner.

YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE  

• Safe and efficient operation of all equipment required to operate the terminal storage facilities as well as a variety of conveying equipment to receive and ship products efficiently.

• Participate in health and safety programs.
• Involvement in inventory management and follow stringent housekeeping practices.
• Provide professional customer service to all Agromart Terminal customers. This will include direct communication with truck drivers, logistical services and the Agromart partners.
• Other responsibilities may be added as necessary.

YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING THE PROFILE

• Post-secondary education is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant and practical experience in a production environment.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude to perform general repairs and maintenance.
• Will be able to perform physical tasks and operate heavy equipment as needed. Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in adverse conditions with changing temperatures. Able to work extended hours to meet business demands when needed.
• Valid G driver’s license.
• The ability to work overtime, up to 7 days per week in peak season.
• Work in a team environment but able to work independently.
• Good communication and general computer skills.
• Agriculture background in production and fertilizer handling is preferred.
