GM BluePlan Engineers Limited (GMBP) is an employee-owned, engineering consulting firm with seven offices throughout southwestern Ontario.  We have earned a reputation for providing quality civil engineering services through a teamwork approach.  Our specialties encompass the following disciplines:  land development, site servicing, municipal, water and wastewater treatment, hydrogeology, municipal planning, bridge design, building design, environmental, materials testing, and geotechnical.  We work with a broad range of public and private sector clients who have entrusted our professionals to guide them in the design and implementation of a variety of projects.  Our commitment to develop and retain a diversified and professional staff gives us the strength to provide innovative, practical and cost-beneficial solutions to our clients’ engineering needs, both today and into the future.

Under the supervision of a senior engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the following duties:  writing proposals, developing and evaluating design alternatives, completing and reviewing detailed engineering design calculations, and coordination of drawings with drafting staff.  Candidates would also be expected to meet with clients, write design reports, develop construction specifications, provide contract tendering and administration services and carry out field work including structure condition assessments, field measurements, and construction inspection.
Candidates must be self-starters with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.  The successful candidate must possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem solving skills, have an approachable interpersonal style, be prepared for increasing responsibilities, and be eligible for their Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and licence in Ontario. Experience with S-Frame, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and AutoCAD software is an asset.  Prior experience in a small sized, rural consulting firm would also be looked upon favourably.
