Working for our dynamic company as the Accounting Supervisor, you will ensure the overall general accounting requirements for our group of companies are met. This broad position will see you specifically responsible for the following:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial reports including financial statements for 6 different companies
- Prepare weekly payroll, yearly T4s and be responsible for benefits administration
- Accurately prepare and process all government remittances, source deductions such as EHT, WSIB, etc.; prepare related yearly reports.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to assist senior management with decision making
- Preparation of year end schedules
- General ledger entries and reconciliations
- Banking including preparing daily deposits and reporting on the line of credit
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses
- Provide back up support for Account Receivable and Account Payable
- Perform other functions as assigned such as bank deposits
- Supervise three other employees
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- College accounting diploma or equivalency
- Minimum two years full cycle experience in accounting preferably in a small for profit business environment
- Proven supervision and leadership skills
- Willing to learn and undertake new challenges
- Experience working with QUICK BOOKS and Summit will be beneficial
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Able to handle confidential information in an appropriate way
- Highly analytical with great attention to accuracy
- Able to multi-task and meet frequent deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to perform duties with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to step outside of normal job duties to pitch in and assist as necessary
- Understands the importance of team work in a small business
