Manager of Aquatics, Centre Branch YMCA
Nature and Scope: The Manager of Aquatics will be an integral part of the Sr. Management Team of Centre Branch YMCA and responsible for ensuring service excellence in the Aquatic Program. The manager will oversee the supervision and safe operation of these programs; ensuring the YMCA of Western Ontario regulations, National YMCA standards, Provincial Standards (Ontario Pool Health Regulations) and SAM expectations are met.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment, selection, training, scheduling and performance management of staff and volunteers in aquatic areas
- Provide direct leadership in the delivery of programs
- Establish and implement staff/volunteer development and recognition plans and programs
- Administrative duties including payroll, scheduling, monitoring wait lists, statistical reporting and analysis
- Research current trends and develop new and innovative programming based on trends
- Development and ongoing monitoring of budget
- Assist with marketing and promotional efforts as related to programs
- Work directly with various user groups
- Respond to and proactively deal with members and potential issues of concern
- Support all other service areas while implementing Priority SAM
- Maintain relevant certifications
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Hold Current Certifications in National Lifeguard Service, YMCA Swim Instructors, or Red Cross Swim Instructors or Lifesaving Swim Instructors, Aqua-Fit (asset), Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Experience teaching Aqua-Fit programming or willingness to train
- Satisfactory Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Search
