Lucas Professional Search Group is currently recruiting for an General Accountant for a manufacturing facility in the Chatham area.  The General Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, and financial statements.

Responsibilities:
·         Post and Maintain journals
·         Update general journal entries
·         Prepare monthly financial statements
·         Reconcile all Balance Sheet and analyze accounts
·         Support Controller in preparation of bi-weekly borrowing base.
·         Prepare debit and credit memos, cancels cheques, and reconciles bank balances.
·         Prepare and distributes financial reports as required including monthly trial balance
·         Prepare monthly HST return for review by Controller.
·         Back up for all A/R functions
·         Reconcile cheques issued and cashed on a weekly basis.
·         Completes stats Canada reports
·         Maintains Capital Assets and Indirect Codes
·         Controls Currency Revaluation
·         Performs all other related duties as deemed reasonable

Qualifications
·         Post-secondary degree in accounting
·         2+ years of work related experience.
·         Ability to work well under pressure
·         Strong organizational skills
·         Strong multi-tasking abilities
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
