Job Description
Our client west of London is recruiting for a Production Supervisor (afternoon shift) on contract to join their team. This role is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and assembly processes which include, but not limited to: training, scheduling, planning, controlling and supervising. This role has the potential to develop into a full time opportunity.

Responsibilities:
- Creates an employee culture that is supportive of the establishment of a world class Health, Safety and Environmental Management System through understanding the regulatory requirements, CSA Core HSE requirements, customer requirements and facility HSE programs relevant to their areas.
- Demonstrates leadership through modeling behavior to employees and co-workers by maintaining discipline of Lean Manufacturing (leadership, respect, trust, task relationship and teaching).
- Schedules and plans plant production.
- Holds employee discipline meetings/discussion in regard to work performance and/or quality.
- Leads projects with the department and facilitates group activities within the department.
- Closely monitors defects on all product lines/equipment.
- Seeks to investigate quality issues and root causes.
- Monitors inventory levels of both raw materials and finished good in order to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Works closely with employees and responds to any concerns.
- Responsible for compliance to both the TS16949 Quality System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Participant in and/or support the activities of the plant Health, Safety, Environment and Ergonomics Committee.
- Monitors SPC charting, machine paperwork and bluebook.
- Champion shift 5S projects, plant organization and housekeeping efforts.
- Minimum 5 years in supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Union experience.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Computer knowledge and ability to learn systems.
- Ability to motivate work force.
