Junior Project Manager - Equipment Design, Build & Support

WESCOR provides wastewater management services to handle all day to day operations of wastewater treatment processes so our clients can focus their expertise where it matters most, with their core business. Summary of Position:
A team oriented individual who will be responsible for mechanical design/build aspects of Industrial Wastewater Treatment Equipment Production & Development.

Job Functions:
Management of Production Builds:

• Communicate with customers to understand scope of projects
• Specify & acquire build components
• Communicate with sub-contractors providing necessary detail to ensure purchased components are completed on time & to required specifications
• Create drawing packages for customer approval including: Dimensional, G.A.'s, P&ID, Process Flow, Technical Specifications, Shop drawings
• Create & maintain Bill of Material, Q.A. & Factory Control Docs, Assembly Records & detailed project files
• Conduct pre-shipment equipment configuration & testing
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment systems
• Deliver project completion on time & within budget
• Assist sales dept. with proposal & budget development
• Provide technical assistance to sales dept. as needed

Design & Development of New Equipment Models:

• Develop, analyze and implement innovative, cost effective design solutions for industrial wastewater treatment systems
• Create CAD drawings in Solidworks including: parts, assemblies, models, manufacturing drawings, drawing packages for internal use & provision to sub-contractors
• Develop specification of build components
• Complete appropriate selection & use of materials
• Create technical specification documents, BOM, Manuals, etc.

Experience & Education:

• Post-secondary technical education in mechanical design
• Two-three years' experience in a manufacturing or environmental machine build environment
• Understanding of equipment & process design intent, function & requirements
• Carry out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of related engineering or scientific theory, principles and practices
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes & procedures, standard production capabilities & tolerances
• Advanced ability in Solidworks
• Proficient in MS Office & Visio and strong computer skills
• Knowledge of the following not necessary but considered an asset:
  • Wastewater treatment processes, pumps, chemical feeds, conveyors
  • Use of PLC controls

• Ability to use initiative and good judgment in the application of standard procedures
