Please note that to be a candidate for this position, you must be able to obtain Government Security Clearance.

Position Title : CNC Production Operator (2nd shift, afternoons)

Location : Dorchester, Ontario

General description:

The nature of the work is machining prototype parts for new assemblies in the defense industry or reworking prototype parts and production runs. This position is on second shift (afternoons).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years direct experience as a machine operator
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or one year community college
  • Operate, Setup & Program CNC Machining Centers an asset
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards an asset
  • Accurate and highly analytical
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Essential Duties:

The duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Have a good knowledge of all Standard Operational Procedures for their areas and be able to ensure that all standards of quality are controlled and carried out
  • Trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Understanding of quality procedures
  • Communicate and/or assist QA Technicians with the process and final inspections
  • Proficient in blue print reading (geometric tolerances)
  • Knowledge of required measuring instruments and gauges
  • Comply with and demonstrate the company Health & Safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Act Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed in all areas covered by this designation
  • Assist in the design and implementation of standards for safe working conditions
  • Operate CNC mills/lathes for production
  • Other duties as required
