Job Description
Inteqna, London is proud to be recruiting a Senior Accountant for our client; a growing and innovative organization. This is a permanent position with one of the top 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting services and insight to the organization and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance concerning all company accounting records in the general ledger
- Process and generate financial accounting information as required by the CFO, Controller, and various other areas of the organization
- Completion of period-end adjusting entries and month-end/year-end closing for multiple companies
- Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts in various currencies
- Month-end revaluation of balance sheet accounts
- Reconciliation of all intercompany account balances
- Various balance sheet account reconciliations and identification and resolution of any issues
- Monthly financial statement preparation, consolidation, and analysis
- Maintenance and analysis of the annual corporate budget and monthly rolling forecast information
- Provide support and insight throughout the year-end audit
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a business or accounting program in addition to an accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CPA)
- 5+ years’ experience working in a general accounting function
- Experience with financial reporting including preparation and strong analysis of financial statements and information
- Experience working in a fast paced, multi-company, multi-currency environment
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SAP accounting software (preferred)
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service, problem solving, communication, decision making, organization and trouble shooting skills
- Able to work under time constraints, effectively prioritize multiple functions, and have the ability to analyze and improve processes
- Individual must have the ability to analyze financial information and properly report areas of nonconformance
- Ability to work independently
- Possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
