Job Description

Our successful manufacturing client in the London, ON area is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Supervisor to join their team.  This individual will be responsible for the daily operations of the Tool Room and supporting production.  A summary of responsibilities is listed below:

Responsibilities of the job:
  • Oversee a team of associates ensuring that quality, delivery, and production requirements are being met.
  • Supervise Toolmakers and Technicians while providing ongoing leadership, direction, and feedback.
  • Establishes a preventive maintenance program for the company’s production tooling to ensure that they are maintained in good repair and working order at all times.
  • Initiates tooling improvements, maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Maintains appropriate records regarding tooling and Preventative Maintenance.
  • Ensures that safe working procedures and good housekeeping practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Prepares a work schedule with interim and end target estimates for all projects within his responsibility.
  • Assign work responsibilities to shift maintenance.
  • Maintain required safety levels on plant floor.
  • Ensure that production requirements are satisfied.
  • Ensure that Company policies and procedures and adhered to Quality requirements.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principals.
  • Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings.
  • Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives.

Job Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in Tool and Die Supervision.
  • Above average interpersonal skills in order to accomplish company/department objectives.
  • Must be able to work necessary overtime.
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001.
