What's a Resource and Information Coordinator?
Reporting to the Director of Employment Services and Training, the Resource and Information Coordinator pro-actively provides employment service customers with high quality, responsive resource and information (RI) services. The RI Coordinator also supports effective service planning and coordination to improve the customer experience.
This is a key role in creating a positive and welcoming environment and in our efforts to effectively and efficiently connect job seekers with employment opportunities and/or employment services.
What’s the role?
- Ensure customer service satisfaction by welcoming job seekers to the Resource and Information centre, and actively engaging with them to learn their employment needs.
- The RI Coordinator will partner with the customer service team to support highly effective, efficient, inclusive customer service to all individuals
- Assist job seekers to engage in employment services, including completion of relevant forms and processes
- Partner with the Employment Services team to link job seekers to the enhanced/intensive services they need to move forward, as well as to refer appropriate candidates to employment opportunities
- Maximize the use of information and media (including social media) for the benefit of job seekers and the Goodwill Career Centre.
- Provide back-up support to the customer service team as needed and as available.
- Support events that draw in, and serve, job seekers (e.g. job fairs, general information sessions, etc.)
- Complete activity and outcome reports to track the efficiency and effectiveness of the Resource and Information Centre, and to support effective reporting to the organization and funders.
- Conduct outreach via media to gather information and support partnerships with other community agencies
- Gather and maintain information and resources that are relevant and useful to our customers.
- Perform other related activities as necessary or as assigned
Do you fit the part?
- Do you have a relevant post-secondary education (e.g. Career Development, Library and Information Services)?
- Do you have 2 years of relevant, related experience?
- Do you take delight in engaging, serving and supporting others?
- Can you listen, understand, and respond appropriate to individuals who may be distressed, or dealing with barriers to employment?
- Are you an effective and engaging communicator (written, verbal, and digital)?
- Are you knowledgeable about current community resources, Career Development, and the services and support that Goodwill offers?
- Do you have exceptional organizational skills?
- Can you manage your time efficiently and effectively, even when faced with frequent interruptions?
- Would you describe yourself as highly computer literate?
- Are you familiar with health and safety legislation in the workplace?
