We’re hiring an experienced accounting and finance professional for an exciting contract role in London, ON. Our client is a reputable educational institution in need of an Accounting and Public Funding Representative to oversee regular financial activities and manage grants and public funding projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage accounts and financial administration, including accounts payable/receivable, reporting, expenditures, etc.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to facilitate funding for special projects
  • Create and manage budgets in coordination with appropriate project managers
  • Oversee transactions related to corporate sponsorships
  • Coordinate public funding and partner engagement for grants
  • Write and edit grant content, letters of support, etc.
  • Administer and support current and future public accounts
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years of financial accounting experience, with a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong client focus and desire to achieve results
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel (Mac skills strongly preferred) and an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities and attention to detail
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task on complex projects
  • Able to work well under pressure and apply good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with clients and colleagues

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience in an academic setting is an asset
  • Experience applying for or administering public funds is an asset
  • Criminal background check is required
 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
  • A diploma or degree in Accounting is required
