Position Summary
Reporting to your direct supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining effective animal care protocol and procedures. Essential functions include:
- General cleaning and disinfecting of premises and equipment
- Feeding, bathing, grooming, exercising and general care of animals
- Monitoring and documenting animal behavior accurately
- Laundry duties
- Providing customer service to the public
- Assisting with adoptions and inquires
- Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Qualifications:
- A genuine compassion for animals
- Completion of high school
- Read, Write and Speak English fluently
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- The ability to work within a team environment and take direction well
- The capability to work under stress is essential
- Good verbal and written skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must not have allergies limiting or affecting exposure to animals
- Certificate as Animal Care Attendant or equivalent is considered to be an asset
- Previous experience working with animals is an asset
