Title: Clients Services Special Projects Assistant
 
Employment Status: Contract July-August, 2015
 
Pay:  $ 12.00 per hour – 37.5 hours per week

 
Summary:
St. Joseph’s Hospice is a charitable organization providing compassionate care and companionship to persons with life-threatening illnesses. Support is extended to family members and caregivers and to those grieving the loss of a loved one.  Hospice follows a two-pronged approach: residential care and community-based programs and services.
 
St. Joseph’s Hospice is seeking a motivated and organized individual who enjoys the challenge of jumping into project work.  Organization and accuracy are key attributes to fulfilling this role. Prioritizing skills are necessary as day to day activities will vary.  Role functions include:
  • research, development and revision of policies and procedures including editing and creating customized documents,
  • administrative and scheduling assistance for various Hospice programs and services.
 
Qualifications:
The Requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.
  • Post-secondary education degree or diploma or in progress of attaining
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, Excel, and database programs 
  • Knowledge and commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience working with clients in person and over the phone in a professional, timely, and friendly manner
  • Strong research and writing skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to carry out assignments competently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • A warm, caring, calm and genuine approach when interacting with others
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work in a busy environment with multiple priorities; capacity to prioritize and think critically
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills consistent with the mission, vision and values of St. Joseph’s Hospice
