HYDMECH CANADA Corp is the North American leader in the design and manufacturing of metal cutting bandsaws HYDMECH, a subsidiary of MEP SpA based in Italy which is part of Group Legris Industries based in France. You will be part of a global organization with locations in the US, Europe, China and South America where advancement from within the organization is supported.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, we have an immediate need for a Manufacturing Technician/Technologist. The key aspect of this role is working directly on the plant floor, collaborating on planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in the assembly facility. In addition, you will assist in the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods. Other responsibilities include utilizing your passion and knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrications processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Job responsibilities:
  • Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate engineering change notices (ECNs) for feasibility and economic impact. Should the ECN result in a material and positive impact, you will be tasked with executing the design change and processing the related ECN information (BOMs, procedures, etc.).
  • You will support the evaluation of manufacturing processes; maintain shop floor documentation ensuring product compliance to drawings and applicable assembly/manufacturing design standards.
  • You will participate in projects identifying and implementing labor, material, and cost savings initiatives (direct and indirect) considering workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow and equipment layout

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing/assembly processes and tooling.
  • Post-secondary Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technician/Technology is an asset.
  • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience within an assembly environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; Well organized and the ability to work independently or within a team setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Solid Works is required.
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP and SAP is an asset.
