Job Description
Agilus is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for our client in Waterloo/ Toronto, ON.
Looking for someone to provides expert professional services to the businesses and Corporate entities by following the GAAP and IFRS 17 standards.
This is a 1-year contract role. Currently working remote but will have to work from office once it reopens.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in the internal initiatives focused on improving the quality of professional services delivered by the team.
- Ensure all financial information is prepared according to the company internal controls and governance.
- Other tasks required of a Financial Analyst who consistently adds value by assisting in improving business practices and profitability on behalf of stakeholders.
- Provide consultation on accounting issues €“ develop requirements where appropriate and change process and needed.
- Ensure fulfillment of all local obligations from a statutory perspective.
- Implementing IFRS 17 requirements and solutions as it related to finance functions and reporting and Management reporting.
- Coordinate and review appropriate accounting for special transactions
- Complete all e-compliance task, ensuring accurate information.
MUST HAVE qualifications:
- 4-6 years of relevant/related experience
- An accounting or finance designation - CPA expertise in IFRS.
- Experience with life insurance accounting and financial control knowledge
- Extensive experience analyzing and financial reporting and investment accounting
- Strategic thinker with experience in developing innovative solutions to business issues
- Demonstrated business advisory/consultancy experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational know-how capabilities
- Extensive experience in Information technology environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
