LONDON POLICE SERVICE
Position: Manager, Fleet Services
Status: Permanent, Full Time
Application Deadline: October 6, 2021
The Manager, Fleet Services is responsible and accountable to the Senior Director, Facilities, Finance and Fleet, for the efficient and timely performance of the assigned duties and responsibilities. Specific responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
- Co-ordinate the maintenance, repair and procurement of all London Police Service vehicles and mechanical equipment;
- Provide technical and job assistance and training, as required, to ensure employee competence in WHMIS, fuel handling, propane dispensing and workplace safety programs and policies, and the satisfactory completion of repairs;
- Supervise, schedule, direct and evaluate the activities of personnel, ensuring the effective and efficient utilization of available personnel and equipment;
- Ensure all government, environmental and safety standards are met;
- Forecast, plan, monitor and manage capital and operating budgets for Fleet Services including 10 year projections of fleet replacement schedules and tracking invoices;
- Maintain high level of knowledge of the fleet management computer system and provide training to members regarding features and uses of software;
- Supervise stock room operation, inventory requirements and perform spot audits;
- Supervise vehicle work routines and co-ordinate warranty repairs;
- Obtain and audit repair estimates for damaged vehicles;
- Prepare fleet reports, supervise data entry and collation of information in fleet programs;
- Author and facilitate interviews and skills and knowledge tests for Fleet candidates;
- Work with Fleet services suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing;
- Manage issue resolution with City of London Fleet and IT Division representatives
- Perform on going lifecycle management of fleet assets; and
- All duties as required within the core competencies.
Requirements
- 3 year post-secondary education
- 36 months pre-employment experience
Salary: $116,480 (starting) - $154,094 (after 30 months)
