Job Description
Headstart Employment Solutions is currently recruiting for a Product Developer, Food and Beverage, London, Ontario.
Your goals:
Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will organize, record and implement the development of new products, optimization of existing products and engage in activities related to the products and their raw materials in attributes including, but not limited to; formulating, testing, prototype development, sensory evaluation and data management to effectively integrate products into the innovation cycle highlighting cost optimization to achieve the company’s objectives. You leverage the technical skills of the R & D team in developing practical solutions to complex technical problems and execution of product/process testing from concept to manufacturing implementation. You create technical content reports based on trials and scientific research journals. Utilizing sound judgment you integrate Health benefits in product lines to address consumer needs.
Your strengths:
You have earned a University degree in a science related field; Food Science, Biochemistry, Nutrition or Culinary. You combine your degree with a minimum of 2 to 5 years demonstrated experience in food production industry; preferably based in baking product development. Your understanding of regulatory requirements and experience in a flour based food manufacturing environment is an asset. Culinary experience or a related field working with pizza dough development and knowledge of dough characteristics, and properties and cause /effect are an advantage. Time management, organization, sound judgment, decision making, attention to detail and effective communication are an integral part of your skills repertoire. You have an analytical mind and are able to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions utilizing your knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis. Project management skills are demonstrated as you are effectively able to take ownership and initiative during projects. You possess creativity and innovation expressed in a “Can Do” attitude. You have the ability to work and conduct plant trials in a manufacturing environment with flexible hours if required. Additionally, you are computer literate with good working knowledge of software applications.
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 plus benefits
