We are currently seeking a Program Manager to support our activities and initiatives.

The Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing is a provincially-funded non-profit organization that raises awareness of Ontario’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The organization has experienced growth and transformation over the past two years and has emerged as an important source of information, insight, and thought leadership for policy-makers and industry stakeholders.

As a member of the leadership team, the Program Manager reports to the Managing Director and serves as a key node between staff, partners, stakeholders, and the Managing Director. The Program Manager has experience working in a research or managerial role in a university, college, government agency, economic development organization, or like-minded non-profit organization. The ideal candidate is familiar with Ontario’s economy and labour market and aware of relevant issues and trends affecting the manufacturing sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to full-time and part-time staff;

  • Provide progress updates to the Managing Director;

  • Conceive and carry out research on behalf of the organization;

  • Help develop and refine organizational policies and operating procedures;

  • Engage and liaise with stakeholders and partners, including industry associations, municipal economic development organizations, provincial and federal government agencies, manufacturers, and other like-minded non-profit organizations;

  • Support the organization’s communications and promotions activities;

  • Help the Managing Director and other staff prepare for meetings with board members, partners, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of five years experience in a research, economic development, or policy environment.

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, geography, policy studies, public administration, engineering, or labour studies (a postgraduate degree is preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team with a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.

  • Effective at building and managing relationships with staff, stakeholders, and partners.

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex assignments from inception to implementation.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective leadership skills.

  • Effective and proactive communicator.

Other assets include:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing, including one or more of the automotive, life sciences, aerospace, automation/tooling, and food processing industries.

  • Demonstrated experience with applied research, both quantitative and qualitative.

  • Project management experience.

  • Grant-writing experience.

The candidate must balance working virtually and in our offices at Western University in London, Ontario, following the COVID-19 pandemic. Travel throughout Ontario may also be required.

We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified candidates to apply. Please email a one-page cover letter and resume, indicating the position title you are applying for in the subject line, to info@trilliummfg.ca. Only those invited for an interview will be contacted. Please let us know if you require any accommodations during the recruitment process.

The anticipated start date is September 2021.
