Application UI / UX Designer

THE POSITION:
 
The Application UI / UX Designer will be responsible for the creation of all visual designs, including typography, visual concept, logo and icon design, user experience design for mobile, web, and desktop applications. You will use your extensive knowledge of specialized design concepts, media, and software tools to develop comprehensive user experiences. You will also coordinate with the Systems Analyst, Quality Analyst, and Marketing team to create the visual design and functions successfully for varying technical and performance specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Manage the design process from planning to final execution including creation, maintenance and delivery of current and future web design & graphics
• Creation of wireframes and design mock-ups
• Develop and propose creative prototypes/solutions that address overall design, site navigation and layout of content 
• Liaise closely with the company's principals and/or clients at the creative stage of web based projects
• Integrate multimedia concepts with technical graphic design elements, as appropriate
• Create and produce JPEGs, PDFs, video, clip art, graphs, charts, thumbnail images, and other design elements
• Coordinate and maintain a library of graphics, media, digital records, and other enterprise content
• Create electronic page layouts using appropriate software (e.g. InDesign. Photoshop, HTML, CSS etc.)
• Provides technical graphics assistance to production personnel, content authors, publishers, clients, and/or vendors/service providers
• Provide creative and functional design solutions in a timely manner.
• Interact with Application Developers, System Analysts, and technical staff when database interaction is required
• Maintain currency on UI / UX trends, techniques, and technologies
• Create Marketing Collateral
• Performs other duties as assigned

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 

• Degree or Diploma in an accredited Web, Human-Computer Interaction, or Graphic Design program preferred
• Proven UI / UX Design experience
• At least 1-3 years of direct work experience as a designer
• Expert knowledge in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
• Expert knowledge of and ability to develop interactive prototypes in of HTML, CSS, and JS to include Angular, Bootstrap, and Node
• Ability to develop for desktop, tablet, and mobile environments
• Well versed in the latest design methods, practices, techniques, and associated principles
• Agile / Scrum experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of web design procedures and standards
• Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and able to present design concepts to internal and external stakeholders
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors
• Effective deadline management and project management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and/or content owners
