JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Travel to and effect repairs on farm equipment that breaks down in the field whenever on-site repairs are warranted using the proper tools and equipment;
- Arrange transportation of pieces that need extensive repair to the nearest appropriate facility;
- Maintain records of all shop supplies and tools used in a repair process, as well as all relevant labour hours;
- Provide 24-hour coverage for service calls;
- Provide daytime support service to other farm staff;
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, milker, and irrigation systems;
- Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools;
- Record details of repairs made and parts used;
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary;
- Clean and lubricate parts.
- College Diploma in Engine Repair and Mechanics;
- 5 years of experience in Farm Equipment Mechanics
SALARY:
- $37 / hr
- 30-35 hr/wk
