London Public Library welcomes applications from qualified candidates to fill the role of Summer Literacy Facilitators in support of our literacy initiatives relating to children in our Library branches located throughout the London community. These summer positions are for 35 hours per week and pay $11.00 per hour.
Primary responsibilities include: planning and providing one-on-one reading support to children of various age groups who are having difficulties reading, assisting staff with the organization and delivery of our TD Summer Reading Club, and participating in the preparation of literacy celebration events. Selected candidates will be required to maintain records and statistics, monitor supplies, organize registrations and schedule meetings. Two library locations will provide reading support in French; written and oral fluency in French and English will be required for the successful applicant at this location.

Applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
- intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
- be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
- be legally entitled to work according to relevant Ontario legislation and regulations and;
not be working 30 hours or more per week at another job.
