Job Description
Our client is looking to hire an Engineering Manager with approximately 8+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. This is an immediate vacancy working with a great company that offers a challenging and positive work environment. This opportunity is located in Huron Park, Ontario.
Job Responsibilities
Builds an effective and empowered team that has the skills and motivation to generate quality output while meeting departmental and divisional goals
Provides formal and informal performance feedback to Team Members utilizing a coaching and mentoring style
Assists in the development and implementation of the department action plan
Actively participates as a dynamic and progressive member of the leadership team to strengthen company's ability to perform and grow to meet its maximum potential
Investigates and reviews potential integrators assessing capabilities and participates in the cost negotiation and selection
Investigates new equipment, process improvements and technologies for feasibility of application to improve efficiency and cost
Attends technical customer reviews for new business initiatives
Prepares technical reports/presentations for customer and/or steering team
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with TS16949
Promotes and initiates continuous improvements and cost reduction opportunities
Complies with duties and responsibilities as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken when violations occur
Experience Required
8 to 10 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
Engineering Degree with a Professional Engineering designation (preferred)/Diploma or equivalent combination of education and applicable work related experience
Prior experience with new program launches from early APQP stages including customer technical reviews, PPAP submissions, FMEA, welding, stamping and GD&T.
Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem solving techniques
Experience with CNC machining, and assembly.
Knowledge or engine valve train mechanics would be beneficial.
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and organizational skills
Proficient computer usage
Ability to work in a professional manner
Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced multi-tasked environment
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Salary
$120k/year
