PERMANENT Position

Position: Assistant Childcare Centre Administrator/Supervisor

Reports To: Program Manager

Position Purpose:

The Assistant Centre Administrator will be responsible for assisting the Centre Administrator with the operational and administrative management of the Children’s Centre, while providing leadership and supervision for Educators and supporting the health and safety of the Centre, which contributes to the success and long term sustainability of Milestones Children’s Centre as a community partner and model for child care. All aspects of the Assistant Centre Administrator position will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and value statements and the policies and procedures of Milestones Children’s Centre, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual and How Does Learning Happen?.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Centre Administrator has accountabilities in the areas of Administration, Program Management, Mentoring and Coaching, Human Resources, Finance, Teamwork and Communication, Community Relations, Professional Learning, Health and Safety and Information Technology.

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

· Early Childhood Education Diploma

· Registered in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators

· Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)

· Safe Food Handling

· Standard First Aid with CPR-C

· Valid Driver’s License

· Have an understanding of How Does Learning Happen? and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014

Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years in a Child Care Centre (preference will be given to candidates with supervisory/administrative experience in a Child Care setting)

Skills and Abilities

· Emerging leadership skills

· Positive customer service skills

· Above average accuracy and attention to detail

· Excellent written, verbal and comprehensive communication skills

· Computer proficiency in word processing and data entry

· Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team atmosphere

· Time management and organizational skills

· The ability to learn new tasks quickly and proficiently

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week(plus before- and after-hours supply calls), rotating shifts

Start Date: January 3, 2022

Salary: minimum $18.77/hour (starting wage determined based on experience) plus an additional $2.00/hour in wage enhancement. Access to our Employee Assistance Program and full benefits after three months of permanent employment.
