This position is responsible for representing the Human Relations function. The incumbent consults with business units and HR colleagues to identify business and/or people concerns and works together to develop solutions. This position achieves employee/management satisfaction through the direction, development and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes and training programs. 

This position has the flexibility to be based out of the London or Mississauga location.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provides counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws, and company policies and procedures. Applies judgment when drawing conclusions and developing solutions.
  • Facilitates issue resolution, improve employee morale, and maintain visibility of the HR function.
  • Leads recruitment and selection activities including working with functional leaders to determine position requirements, preparing postings, participating in the screening and selection process, and providing feedback and guidance to hiring managers.
  • Revises and administers HR programs, policies, procedures and practices consistent with McCormick’s philosophy and shared values.
  • Designs and/ or facilitates McCormick High Performance Systems - leading to higher levels of employee engagement.
  • Responsible for WSIB claims management
  • Designs employee development programs and provide individual development and career counseling. Participates as required, in the exempt performance management/ talent review process.
  • Facilitates training internally and/or with external vendors.

 

Requried Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations, Business, Psychology or other related discipline
  • CHRP Designation
  • 5+ years HR Support and/ or Generalist experience
  • Must demonstrate strong problem solving, program management, and communication skills
