Manager Joint-Venture Accounting & Financial Services
Position of a Manager, JV Accounting & Financial Services with the Agronomy Company of Canada is required immediately.
The Agronomy Company of Canada operates 19 franchised joint-venture and 1 wholly owned retail locations in Ontario and the Maritimes selling agricultural crop input products.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounting, the applicant should be a designated Accountant .
The potential candidate is responsible to train, mentor, develop and lead the Agronomy Field Accountants (FA’s) to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, consistency and professionalism of the financial results at all JV Agromarts.   This also includes developing and training all FA’s to support Agromart audit processes and preparation of draft corporate income tax returns.  The position is also responsible for developing business goals along with personal development plans for all FA’s.
The position provides financial analysis to all Agromart Managers and staff on best practices that help attain higher profitability.  The role will assist in benchmarking protocols, including the key business drivers for Agromart partners to positively influence their management decisions.
The incumbent may provide FA services to one or two Agromart locations, which will include preparation of board packages, recording and filing of minutes and arranging meetings. 
The role will also assist with Microsoft Dynamics Navision installation at Agromarts and ensure FA’s are trained to support the JV staff.  The incumbent will also analyze capital asset and equipment acquisition plans and advise board directors on appropriate financing methods.
 
Requirements:
Must have a University degree in Bachelor of Commerce or Finance and be a designated accountant (CPA CA, CMA, CGA) with 5+ years of post designation experience, including past relevant manager/supervisor experience.
Strong leadership abilities, capable of exerting influence and mobilizing a team.
Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, and ability to meet many deadlines.
Ability to travel to Agromart Group locations in Ontario and the Maritimes will be required and therefore a company vehicle will be provided.
