Job Description
Thames Valley Children's Centre is the regional rehabilitation Centre serving children and youth with physical disabilities, communication, and developmental needs in 10 counties of Southwestern Ontario. We are a community-oriented Centre providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation and therapy. We serve more than 8,000 children, ranging from newborn to young adults, every year. Our research, creativity and innovations have made us pioneers in the treatment and management of disabilities and special needs.
We are recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours per week), temporary Administrative Assistant to support Autism Services. This position is expected to begin in February 2016 and end in September 2016. The designated office for this position is London.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to Autism Services teams working across all program offices in the region;
• Schedule meetings and appointments and take minutes as required;
• Assist with the organization of team meetings and events;
• Track and order supplies, equipment and resources;
• Record weekly time sheets for review and approval by Manager/Director;
• Manage program resources using Reference Manager;
• Maintain inventory database;
• Other administrative activities as required.
Qualifications:
• College diploma specializing in Office Administration;
• A strong customer and family-centered care focus;
• Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
• An ability to be flexible and dynamic and to prioritize and meet deadlines while balancing a number of tasks and being detail oriented;
• Proficiency in minute taking;
• Excellent computer skills; proficiency in the MS Office Suite 2010 package of programs, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Experience in Reference Manager is considered an asset;
• An ability to educate and troubleshoot software and hardware issues with other team members;
• Proficiency in French at the novice/elementary level or above is preferred.
