Brescia University College campus is situated on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haundenosaunee, Lunaapéewak and Chonnonton Nations. This territory falls under the London Township Treaty and Sombra Treaty 1796, and the Dish with One Spoon Wampum. Brescia University College accepts responsibility as a public institution to contribute toward revealing and correcting miseducation as well as renewing respectful relationships with Indigenous Communities through teaching, research, and community service.

Brescia is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill a position as:

                                                                                                     
Director of Recruitment and Admissions
(Permanent – Full Time)

 
The Director of Recruitment & Admissions reports to the Executive Director, Strategic Initiatives & Growth and provides overall leadership and direction for recruitment, outreach, conversion, and admissions activities to meet or exceed institutional enrolment goals. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing a robust strategic enrolment plan to support the university’s strategic plan, advancing meaningful partnerships, and contributing to Brescia’s marketing and business development activities. The Director is also responsible for leading a diverse team, including continuing and contract staff.

This position requires the individual to be professional and motivated to succeed, with exceptionally high personal standards of performance and strong judgment.

This role has responsibilities in four key areas as outlined below.

Student Recruitment:
  • Develop and implement a strategic enrolment plan to support Brescia’s institutional strategic plan and to meet enrolment targets.
  • Explore and evaluate new, creative ways to reach stakeholders (i.e. Guidance Counsellors, varsity coaches, education partners, community partners, etc.) to advance Brescia’s profile and recruit students.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate domestic and international partnerships including agent relations.
  • Oversee recruitment in all international markets, including regional analysis of activities, to develop market-specific strategies.
  • Direct, enhance, and evaluate all on-campus events (campus tour program, Open Houses, school visits, conferences, Girls LEAD summer camps, etc.) and outreach strategies.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the university to build effective relationships and communicate recruitment strategies and actions.
  • Cooperate and maintain excellent relationships with Western, King’s, and Huron Recruitment & Admissions colleagues.
  • Manage the department budget to track spending and ensure recruitment and admissions activities meet goals.

Admissions:
  • Manage all aspects of admissions processing, including developing the ability for staff to utilize new CRM technology in the overall admissions process.
  • Review and adjust admissions policies where required.
  • Explore opportunities for pathway admission models.
  • Collect, analyze, and use admissions and enrollment data to meet immediate and long-range enrollment objectives.
  • Lead the delivery of a robust summer orientation program for new students collaboratively with the Student Life team to support transition.

Marketing & Communications:
  • Manage prospect/applicant CRM-supported communications.
  • Enhance existing student, agent, and partner communication processes and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications, Marketing & External Relations to develop recruitment and admissions specific messaging and publications (Viewbook, brochures, displays, etc.) as well as web and social media initiatives.
  • Coordinate recruitment and admissions marketing initiatives and contribute to the development of the institutional marketing plan

Team Leadership:
  • Oversee personnel and day-to-day operations including recruitment activities, special recruitment projects, admissions activities, and the hiring of staff.
  • Provide leadership for the professional development of staff as individual and team contributors.
  • Provide direction, counselling, support, conflict resolution, feedback, and evaluation to team members.
  • Represent the Recruitment & Admissions Department on various committees as required.

Requirements of the role include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Leadership, Media, Communications, or a related field, with. A Graduate degree in one of the above listed areas is preferred.
  • Valid “G” driver’s license and passport.
  • Willing to travel to both domestic and international locations.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience in a senior manager/leadership position at a post-secondary institution in a recruitment, admissions, or marketing-related capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with numerous stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external contacts.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and planning capabilities to prioritize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines with a diverse workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness to daily work.
  • Able to work on own initiative, exercising a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and independent judgment.
  • Past track record of success in increasing student enrollment.
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Experience in budget development, forecasting, and tracking.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, and working with databases or Customer Service Management tools. Experience working with Peoplesoft and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Previous experience in international partnership development is an asset.
