Job Description
Drake International is looking for a Construction Site Supervisor to join our client site. They are a leading home builder in London and are looking for a Site Supervisor that will help take their team to the next level.
The "Construction Site Supervisor/Superintendent" will oversee the construction activities that take place on the worksite/project. The "Construction Site Supervisor/Superintendent" will be involved in the supervision of sub-contractors/sub-trades, suppliers, labourers and any other workers on the project(s). All crews and workers on the worksite/project will take their direction from the "Construction Site Supervisor/Superintendent", who is responsible knowing what work must be done and applying resources as required to accomplish that work. The "Construction Site Supervisor/Superintendent" will plan, implement and oversee construction work efforts at a specific worksite or worksites.
Responsibilities
- Work within the requirements of corporate Health & Safety Policy and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Ensure that all workers work within the requirements of the Corporation's Health & Safety Policy and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and additionally monitor on-site health & safety in day-to-day operations and workplace inspections.
- Be diligent in his/her conduct while representing the company
- Meet construction deadlines and outlined budgets.
- Accomplish construction project results by defining project schedules, resources required, coordination of staff/workers, coordination of sub-contractors and suppliers, etc.
- Maintain a high level of staff and worker morale by modelling sound leadership and teamwork.
- Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with and enforcing codes.
- Schedule delivery of needed materials and labour requirements.
- Trouble-shoot and identify construction problems and offer timely & safe solutions.
- Manage tool and material inventory on the project. Ensure unused materials are accounted for and credited as necessary.
- Complete necessary reports and attend construction & sales meetings as required.
- Schedule building inspections as necessary and promptly.
- Provide orientation and training to new workers as required.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations.
- Obtain and maintain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate of training.
- Obtain and maintain other required training certificates as required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Other duties as required
Expectations
- The construction Site Supervisor/Superintendent" is expected to run the project(s) at minimum, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
- A company vehicle will be provided, and any business expenses will be reimbursed.
- Bonuses will be paid as per the Corporate Policy on Bonuses.
QuaIifications
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a related position.
- Additional experience in customer service/maintenance is considered an asset.
- Additional experience in construction supervision is considered an asset.
- Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills related to the position. (Ability to communicate effectively with staff, sub-trades and homeowners).
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Ability to use computer programs related to the position. (i.e. Microsoft Office).
- Valid Ontario class G drivers’ license.
- Valid First Aid training (Standard Level or equivalent).
- Provide own transportation to and from work.
