Pay & Benefits Administrator
We are seeking a Pay & Benefits Administrator to successfully administer weekly payroll for approximately 160 employees; unionized and non-unionized.  This position is a full-time permanent placement reporting to the head of Human Resources, primarily responsible for all faucets of payroll including but not limited to, time and attendance, payroll administration, interpretation and application of Collective Agreements, benefits coordination and to provide employees with a customer service type experience while providing information on pay & benefits, request for time off, vacation pay, policies and procedures and benefit inquiries.   
 
Job Description:
  • Execute weekly Payroll using ADP Pay at work accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure accuracy of employee labour hour swipes using ADP Ezlabour
  • Maintain the data integrity of internal HRIS
  • Process time off requests as per the Collective Agreement and Employee Manual
  • Coordinate weekly overtime posting and distribution of hours
  • Generates reports on a monthly basis for various Departmental Managers
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable employment legislation, including Employment Standards, Human Rights, and PIPEDA
  • Ensure payroll accounting practices are accurate, complete and meet the requirements of internal/external auditors
  • Investigate and reply in a timely manner to employee questions regarding any payroll inquiries
  • Prepare and distribute Record of Employment in a timely manner
  • Maintain the Human Resources database by entering vacation time, sick time and leaves
  • Build strong working relationships with Managers/Supervisors
  • Complete Year End adjustments and T4 processing
  • Liaison with employees and management on pertinent issues
  • Maintain personnel files
    Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with ADP (Pay at work, Ezlabour)
  • Working towards Payroll Compliance Practitioner or equivalent former CPA approved designation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years in a payroll, human resources and/or accounting role
  • Knowledge of business, human resources, collective agreements and accounting concepts an asset
  • Excellent keyboarding and computer skills with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Must have reliable transportation

Negotiable

Hours:
Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
