Assistant Kitchen Manager
RiverBend Golf Community is a unique development in west London boasting a Doug Carrick designed championship golf course, a dynamic clubhouse and a first class Pro Shop within an adult lifestyle gated community. Our exceptional clubhouse amenities include casual and fine dining, a 19th hole lounge, catering, and luxurious spa and fitness facilities.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager.  This full time position works closely with the Executive Chef to assist in managing all food preparation and planning, providing the Club with a variety of foods and cooking styles to meet the needs of various areas of the Club, banquets and special functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•  Assists and supervises food preparation to Club standards of excellence, quality control, taste and preparation.
•  Designs and maintains food costs for weekly features.
•  Designs daily lunch and dinner features.
•  Supervises all kitchen staff on a daily basis and carries out training and development in the Executive Chef’s absence.
•  Maintains proper cleanliness of all kitchen areas on a day-to-day basis and implements and monitors the completion of weekly cleaning schedules.
•  Schedules staff according to weekly volumes and special functions.
•  Implements Health and Safety Codes according to health and safety standards set by both the Ministry of Ontario Health Board and Sifton Properties Limited.
•  Supervises all kitchen staff to ensure proper use of equipment and handling of food and related products.
•  Review function sheets and regular daily business levels to determine food supplies to be ordered.
•  Supervises the creation and set up of featured culinary menu items, buffet displays, banquets, Club functions as well as day-to-day kitchen operations for all food service areas.
•  Interacts with the resident/membership on a regular basis as required during Club dining, special functions and when receipt of feedback relative to our food services.
•  Is expected to cook on regular basis and assist the culinary staff as required.


QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Red Seal Certificate, college Diploma in Culinary Management or equivalent.
• 3 years kitchen experience with preferably 2 years as an Assistant Kitchen Manager or Equivalent.
• Experience with food costing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in menu development and industry food service trends.
• Present a professional image at all times.
• Good training, leadership and coaching skills.
• Experience scheduling staff.
• Moderate computer skills essential, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
