Web Content Assistant
 
Let’s Talk Science is seeking a team player with skills and experience contributing to the creation and/or posting of text and multi-media based web content for this newly created position. As a member of our collaborative Web Strategy and Development team you will assist with the scheduling, creation, acquisition and posting of content on Let’s Talk Science web properties.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation and creation of content (e.g. articles, images, videos, pdfs, resources, links, etc.) for web properties as assigned
  • Assist with updating and managing the content of Let’s Talk Science web properties within content management systems (CMSs) while following established guidelines for posting
  • Assist with managing the publishing workflow to deploy content and promote it through various channels, including social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)
  • Source relevant STEM related content for Let’s Talk Science web properties, including but not limited to images, animations and videos while ensuring any copyright issues are appropriately considered
 Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in STEM, communications/ journalism or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • One to two (1-2) years’ of experience in web content management, and/or a related internet field
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and CMSs (such as Joomla or DotNetNuke) with experience creating web content for users with accessibility in mind
This is a full-time 2 year renewable contract, includes benefits and is based at our National Office in London, Ontario. However, work from a home office may be negotiable to the right candidate.
