Job Description
We have an opportunity for a full-time Real Estate Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to assist our client in downtown London. This is an ongoing position with a strong potential for permanent hire for the right individual.
The main responsibilities for this role include:
- Managing residential and commercial real estate transactions from beginning to end;
- Opening files, conducting conflict checks;
- Inputting files into Conveyancer and PC Law;
- Maintaining an effective Bring Forward (BF) system;
- Following up with agents’ offices re waivers, amendments, etc.;
- Preparing and sending initial letters and questionnaires to clients;
- Ordering payout statements;
- Ordering final readings on sale files;
- Ordering municipal reports and contacting the tax office;
- Following up on matters throughout the real estate process;
- Preparing real estate closings;
- Preparing final reports;
- Billings;
- Following up on undertakings and outstanding items on files;
- Closing out files.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
-Minimum 3 years experience as a law clerk in estate OR real estate law OR recent Law Clerk graduate
-Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suites
-Advanced data entry skills (speed and accuracy)
-Previous experience with Conveyancer and PC Law is essential
-Strong communication with a high level of attention to detail
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to prioritize, organize work and meet deadlines
Compensation: To be determined – negotiable based on experience
