Job Description
Are you a dynamic individual who is seeking a leadership in a health care environment? Do you have past success leading a team in a collaborative and fast paced environment? If so, the London InterCommunity Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team.
As the Primary Care Supervisor, you will lead and support a clinical team of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and Dietitians across 2 busy clinics throughout the city of London. The Health Centre is committed to providing health care to those who experience barriers to care, and this position offers a unique opportunity to support and contribute to a team that make a difference in the lives of new immigrants and refugees, and those impacted by homelessness, mental illness, addiction, poverty, language barriers, and complex and/or chronic health conditions.
Reporting to the Client Services Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations of the team, and work as part of integrated leadership team to provide high quality care aligned with the values of the Health Centre. This is a temporary full time opportunity.
Required Qualifications:
- A Diploma/Degree in Health and/or Social Services from a recognized college or university; or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience in the Health and/or Social Service sector;
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive responsibility as a healthcare leader, preferably in a community health setting;
- Awareness of, and understanding of, the social determinates of health;
- Ability to work and support relationships with diverse communities and staff with respect, sensitivity, creativity, innovation, cultural understanding, non-judgement and facilitation skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a broad cross-section of stakeholders and health system partners;
- A strong commitment to and demonstrated competence in continuous quality improvement;
- Proven ability to effectively lead a clinical team to work to a full scope of practice;
- Solid problem solving, judgement and decisions making abilities;
- Strong time management and organizational skills as well the ability to shift priorities based on the needs of the team and organization;
- A commitment to work collaborative across teams within the Health Centre;
- Strong computer skills, including the use of MS Office Products and Electronic Medical Records (Nightingale on Demand currently in use).
This position enjoys a supportive environment with flexible hours, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday working primarily from our downtown office. This is a one year contract, with possibility of extension based on the needs of the business, the success of the candidate; as well as the funding provided to the Centre.
