Job Overview
The primary function of this position is to provide general maintenance and to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for children and staff.
Responsibilities
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Wages: $17.34/hr. 8% in lieu of benefits, 4% in lieu of vacation

Responsibilities
- Complete minor requests such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, repairs to toilets, sinks, kitchen, laundry equipment, windows, locks, doors
- Fix/repair broken furniture such as desks, beds, and other live-in items
- Complete minor repairs and painting of all interior areas as assigned.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned.
- Maintain the grounds, if required, outside the scope of the lawn maintenance service provider i.e., maintain the safety and cleanliness entrance area, parking lot, walkways in a clean and presentable manner.
- Assist in the movement of furniture, as required
- Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- grade 12 with related vocational training
- Minimum 2 years of building and grounds maintenance experience preferred
- Operate medium machinery and tools as needed
- Familiar with mudding, taping and drywall repair and painting
- Ability to complete minor repairs
- Ability to work as a team player
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
- Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing
