Job Description:
 
  • Rotating shifts: days, afternoons and midnights.
  • Maintain production lines to meet production requirements.
  • Preventative Maintenance.
  • Robotics-ABB and Motoman (teach and troubleshoot).
  • Servo Programming (teach and troubleshoot).
  • Trouble shoot high pressure water jet machinery.
  • Omron and Automation Direct PLCs (troubleshoot and program).
  • Machine/Facility Wiring-various voltages (sensors, lights etc.).
  • Manage spare parts-inventory awareness and organization.
  • Pneumatics-familiarity with SMC Cylinders, hosing, valves, regulators/flow control and associated connections.
  • Mechanical/hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Facilities maintenance (general upkeep up the plant).
  • Continuous improvement (kaizen activities).
  • Other activities as required.
 
 
Education:
 
  • Electrician Certification (PLC programming, HMI programming)
 
Skills and Experience Needed:
 
  • Focus on PLC programming, HMI programming and associated logic/de-bug (2+ years experience).
  • 2+ years experience as a Millwright or Electrician.
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electricity and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven machine operation troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Understands the “big picture” and how actions affect the rest of the organization.
  • Energetic, Self driven / motivated to continuously improve.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team Player.
