Job Description
Drake International is seeking a legal assistant to join our clients site. This is a full time permanent opportunity with a firm located in the heart of London. In this role you will be instrumental in managing the day to day administrative tasks of a senior lawyer within their firm. The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience as a Legal Assistant preferably in personal injury, insurance defence or litigation (other law verticals may also be considered.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- answering the telephone;
- scheduling appointments;
- opening and closing files including conducting conflict checks;
- preparing and paying invoices;
- maintaining an effective BF system and following up on same;
- summarizing records (medical and OHIP);
- file maintenance in DMS, Primafact and Relativity;
- updating HLP and transmitting correspondence through Client Portal;
- entering Fee Estimates in Health Law Portal;
- drafting correspondence;
- compiling, serving and filing motion records;
- maintaining time dockets;
- communicating with clients and the courts;
- scanning documentation;
- transcribing dictation and proofreading dictation from the correspondence support centre.
- Knowledge of Primafact and Relativity is a definite asset for this position.
