Job Description

Education Program Coordinators will work individually and with colleagues to design dynamic and engaging education programs for K-12 youth, utilizing creative technologies, engineering and scientific principles, design thinking and problem solving skills.

In this role you will learn to use a huge library of advanced maker tools and prototyping technologies such as 3D printers, CNC, hand crafting tools and a laser cutter and use these skills to design and deliver programming to youth. From ideation to program design and delivery, coordinators will test concepts, plan art and STEM activities, manufacture program kits for youth, and produce instructional materials for in person and virtual learning, suitable for all learners across Elgin - Middlesex - London, including iSTEAM, our Indigenous Ways of Knowing and STEAM education program for Indigenous students.

You will then work as a teacher/instructor to deliver in class workshops and our STEAM summer camps to elementary level youth.

This job is generously funded by the Canada SummerJobs program. Priority will be given to:

Youth who are early leavers of high school, not in employment, education or training

In order to be eligible, participants must:

O Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.

O Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.

O Have a valid SIN

O International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
