Reporting to the Technical Manager, you are familiar with the process and equipment used in the coatings industry; proficient in your role as Technician and comfortable in supporting the quality program. You are known as a team player who will join an established, knowledgeable team of professionals.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you are familiar with the process and equipment used in the coatings industry; proficient in your role as Technician and comfortable in supporting the quality program. You are known as a team player who will join an established, knowledgeable team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new colour for existing or potential customer following established SOP’s and guidelines.
- Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests in making qualitative and quantitative analyses to ensure the production of high quality paint formulation or creation of experimental formulas.
- Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
- Develop or conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates, or products.
- Write technical reports or prepare graphs or charts to document experimental results.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
- Minimum OSSD, post-secondary science background, Chemistry preferred
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control
- Minimum 2 years colour matching experience
- Proven ability to analyze data and make decisions
- Able to read gauges and use variety of computer applications
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Use and maintenance of various lab equipment; scales, shakers, etc.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional colour evaluation using the Munsell test.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Reputation of being meticulous and thorough in quality of work.
- Able to perform physical requirement of lifting up to 50 lbs.; able to carry, lift, squat, kneel, push, stand, sit, reach.
