We are currently seeking a team oriented indiviudal looking to grow their leadership skills in the role of Assistant Production Supervisor.

KEY REPSONSIBILITIES:
- Be action oriented and provide leadership to employees on shift.
- Work with department Supervisor to audit the effectiveness of activity on a daily basis.
- Actively participate and prepare for internal & external audits at the facility.
- Able to manage multiple priorities.
- Plan staffing levels and scheduling.
- Maintain & improve food safety initiatives.
- Enforcement of plant rules for sanitation, hygiene, health and safety and employee conduct.
- Provide performance management counseling and/or progressive discipline when required as per Company policies and the Collective Agreement.
- Complete and audit attendance records on KRONOS for the department as well and handle any discrepancies.
- Learn, develop and exhibit behaviours consistent with Maple Leaf Consumer Foods “Leadership Values”.
- Maintain professional behaviors in all dealings with employees, colleagues and other departments.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and be proactive in the elimination of workplace accidents. This includes conducting proper accident investigations, identifying the root cause and developing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP standards.
- Maintain the highest standards for quality, customer service and recognizing that Food Safety is the Number One Priority.


PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
- Post secondary education or equivalent industry experience.
- Shift does not rotate but flexibility to work different shifts as needed including days, afternoons and nights.
- Proven initiative and leadership skills.
- Previous experience in a food processing industry an asset.
- Previous experience working within a CFIA inspected facility an asset.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Being results-oriented and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Well developed written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven experience and commitment to good manufacturing practices.
- Must show initiative and be able to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Provincial Health and Safety Regulations would be an asset.
- Experience in managing or coaching.
- Ability to successfully use computer software applications including SAP, Microsoft Office, and KRONOS.
- Able to work independently within a team environment.
