Position Overview:
The exciting and dynamic position of Facilities Advisor provides operational and technical support as an integral member of our building operations team.  The Facilities Advisor reports directly to the Manager of Commercial Facilities and Operations with duties handled either personally or by way of a contractor, which the Facilities Advisor oversees.  The primary objective of the Facilities Advisor is to ensure that the portfolio of buildings is managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner providing the highest level of curb appeal and operational efficiency for our tenants.  The position is instrumental to our maintaining good tenant and owner relations.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Facilities Advisor include but are not limited to:
  • liaise with tenants to build relationships, solve problems and ensure total satisfaction
  • prepare weekly property reports for portfolio under supervision
  • oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing and life safety systems
  • general maintenance including housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick-up, minor snow shoveling and washing
  • responding to tenant service requests
  • remaining current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes and technology
  • Regular two (2) week period on call duties on a rotation with other Facilities staff members, which consist of responding to afterhours emergencies 24/7

 
Qualifications:
Technical Qualifications:
  • the Facilities Advisor shall have 3-5 years direct work experience in a junior or intermediate position in commercial building operations and maintenance
  • strong knowledge of building operations and maintenance
  • attention to detail
  • pride in a job well done and in the appearance of properties
  • adept in use of communication and computer technology
  • ability to spot opportunities for improvement
  • possess an automobile and a Class G License
