ConnexOntario Health Information Services is a not-for-profit organization that works with various sectors of the Ontario health care system in the collection and provision of information and in the creation of innovative data solutions. We currently have three (3) full-time positions available for Information and Referral Specialists.  Competitive salary and benefits offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Provide information and referral, crisis support and brief intervention for those contacting the Mental Health Helpline, the Drug and Alcohol Helpline, and the Ontario Problem Gambling Helpline.
• Provide prompt, accurate, empathetic verbal, email and web chat responses to requests for information about the availability of services from individuals experiencing problems related to substance abuse, problem gambling and mental health, their family members and friends, as well as health and social service professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

• University degree in the health and/or social sciences field
• Experience in the mental health and/or the addictions systems is preferred
• Proficient in verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Experience as a tele-professional or in customer service/information services
• Ability to communicate effectively with dignity and respect
• Experience in telephone risk management, lethality assessment and crisis intervention would be an asset
• Information and Referral Specialist certification an asset
• Bilingual in English and French preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office software and Oracle database preferred
• Availability to work varied hours when required
• A satisfactory Police Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Check will be required

WORK SCHEDULES (each position is 37.5 hours weekly):
 

• 2 positions: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday
• 1 position:  2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ; 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday
