Summary of Duties

Reports to the Manager III, Facilities Operations or designate. Takes supervision and direction from the Facilities Systems Tradesperson. Performs maintenance duties at various City facilities.

Work Performed

Maintains, inspects, tests and repairs building mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and other building services and equipment in municipally owned and leased facilities.

Cleans, lubricates and makes routine adjustments to building equipment and systems.

Receives and prepares written instruction, prepares written reports, sketches and estimates.

Uses power and hand tools, and electrical and mechanical test and repair equipment.

Performs maintenance painting.

Moves furniture and supplies as required.

Cleans mechanical areas as required.

Assists other trades in their work.

Performs related duties as required.

Shift work may be required.

Qualifications/Experience

Building Environmental Systems Certificate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

One to two years' related experience.

Specialized Training & Licenses

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

Valid Driver's Licence-Class G.

Compensation and Other Information

$41,556 - $57,920 (Level 8)

Other Information

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
