Under the direction of the Director of the School of Social Work, the incumbent will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the School's BSW and MSW recruitment and admissions processes in accordance with the School's policies and procedures as well as the Standards of Accreditation of the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE), and the policies and procedures of the College and the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at Western.
The Programs Liaison will also provide academic counselling to potential and current BSW and MSW students. The incumbent will monitor, assess, and adjudicate progression and graduation eligibility for undergraduate (BSW) and graduate (MSW) students in the School of Social Work
The successful candidate will have a Master of Social Work degree and will possess exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. Excellent organizational, administrative, time management skills are essential. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must. In this role, the incumbant must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgement. Previous supervisory skills would be an asset. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets and, database programs are required. The successful candidate must have the ability to learn and remain current with relevant software systems. Familiary with university environment and ability to apply this knowledge with political awareness in a variety of situations. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience is required.
