We are a manufacturer of insulation components for the oil filled power and transformer market located in London, Ontario.  We are currently looking for an energetic Production Supervisor to join our team at our London manufacturing facility as we continue to grow. 
 
Responsibilities

• Directly supervise employees in a dynamic manufacturing setting
• Working with all departments, ensure proper production schedules are established and plans are put in place to meet scheduled demand
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
• Along with HR, ensures all employee training is scheduled and delivered
• Provides guidance on process and work instructions to employees
• Participate in and support the internal responsibility system in Health and Safety and ensure employees follow established procedures and policies at all times
• Exercises leadership and maintain discipline for employees when required
• Provides counselling and support for employee concerns and initiate problem resolution
• Conducts annual performance appraisals and works closely with HR on employee issues
• Support on time completion of all established and scheduled manufacturing projects
• Ensure all management systems and quality assurance procedures are adhered to
• Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives

 
Requirements

• College Diploma and/or five years manufacturing experience
• Strong communication skills in order to work with all levels of the company
• Strong motivator to provide effective leadership on the shop floor shift and create a positive working environment
• Three years supervisory experience, preferably in a custom “made to order” manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

 
Assets

• Experience in an electrical insulation shop environment or wood working environment
• JHSC Certification training and/or extensive health and safety training and experience
• First Aid/CPR training and certification
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques
• The ability to read technical drawings and solid understanding of CNC equipment
