Summary of Position
 
The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for all activities related to the logistical functions of incoming/outgoing goods and material for the Printed Packaging Division. They will work within a team environment to provide excellent external and internal customer service through accurate and efficient coordination and communication of activities. They will be responsible for all administrative aspects related to these activities. They are expected to build and maintain relationships with various transportation companies and will work closely with Customer Service, Production Planning and Procurement.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Schedule all inbound/outbound/internal shipments in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, using a mix of Jones fleet and approved outside carriers.
  • Review and generate Outbound Deliveries for pending orders by monitoring SAP (VL10E), confirming product availability with Production Planning and communicating potential delivery issues with customer service.
  • Liaise with Production Planning and Procurement to ensure that the pick-up and delivery of raw materials is made in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Ensure transactions are processed completely and accurately within SAP and that accurate data is maintained related to warehouse activities.
  • Prepare pick slips for PP D/C personnel to stage orders to be shipped.
  • Prepare all necessary online shipping documents for outgoing orders.
  • Make required delivery appointments.
  • Communicate with Jones customer service on delivery status, especially if a late delivery is expected (i.e. delivery status, rush order, inventory status, etc.)
  • Act as back-up for Shippers/Receivers and Material Handlers, as required.
  • Ensure that all requirements of JPI Quality Management System are followed
  • Ensure all applicable Health & Safety management System policies and procedures and Environment (ISO 14001) Management System policies and procedures are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.
Key Qualifications
 
Experience and Education (diploma, degree, or professional designation):
 
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in logistics including freight, customs.
  • 1-2 years recent warehouse experience a must.
  • Minimum High School Diploma required. Fork Lift Truck License.
  • Recent CIFFA certification or International Trade & Transportation Certificate/degree from a recognized logistics/warehouse program is recommended.
