Description:
Payroll Clerk position is responsible for the weekly processing of the Hospitals payroll for approximately 850 employees through importing hours from the Kronos Time System into the Payroll software, preparing the transaction file for Medi-solution, setting up new hires, terminations, staff changes, etc.
Hours:
Flexible hours to meet the requirements of the department, including Statutory Holidays.
Skills & Qualifications Required:

Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through the Canadian Payroll Association is preferred;
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous payroll experience in a health care setting specifically dealing with a multi-union environment;
- Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience in a Multi-unionized environment;
- Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of current provincial and federal legislation related to the Payroll function;
- Must possess a high level of accuracy and excellent data entry skills;
- Basic understanding of group benefit plans and the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP);
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize work, juggle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service along with interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Previous experience with Virtuo Payroll (MediSolution) a definite asset;
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions and changing demands;
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Satisfactory attendance in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program.
