The Director of Administration is accountable for the management of the administrative operations of the Faculty of Science.  The incumbent will manage the allocation of financial, human and physical resources, and implement business processes to support the management of financial, operational and legal risk to the Faculty.  The Director of Administration will also develop and present reports regarding Faculty challenges and successes, and make recommendations for administrative tactics which will enable the Faculty to achieve its goals and strategies.

Education:
-   Bachelor's Degree in Management and Organizational Studies or Business Administration
-   Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) Designation, or a recognized Accounting Designation preferred

Experience:
-   5 Years' experience leading a team to implement operational and administrative procedures for a business
-   Strong people management experience with direct accountability for recruitment, on-going training and development and performance management
-   Experience in education or public sector preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Business acumen with an advanced understanding of quality standards relative to operational improvement, strategic planning and business growth
-   Advanced ability to effectively communicate, lead business discussions and train others
-   Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on proposal development and presentation to internal contacts up to senior management
-   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach team members as well as support internal/external clients
-   Creative problem solving skills and sound professional judgment, with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
-   Ability to synthesize sizable amounts of detail/data
-   Ability to identify, quantify and recommend controls to manage risk to an organization
-   Demonstrated analytical ability with a working knowledge of accounting principles, revenue projections and financial statements
-   Results oriented with an ability to handle many tasks, and maintain a high level of individual and team performance
