JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER - London Office
Contract to permanent position
Mandatory: Must meet all security requirements of the Controlled Goods Program, including Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident and a clear Criminal Record

Cantwell Cullen is a business operated within the Zodiac Aerospace Interconnect Systems Division and the Aerosafety and Technology segment of the group. The company develops and produces electrical interconnect and fluid conveyance systems and components for civil and military applications, as well as transportation, nuclear power generation, heavy industrial equipment and agricultural vehicles.
Our company is based in Canada, with headquarters in Oakville, Ontario. The Oakville facility is primarily engaged in the development and production of electrical interconnect systems, while the company’s facility in London, Ontario is focused on development of fluid conveyance applications. Cantwell Cullen has a full design, prototyping, and production capability, and a strong capability to develop integrated system solutions for our customers.
JOB SUMMARY:
Mechanical Engineer to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plant, machinery or vehicles. Is able to work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through design and final commissioning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and prepare sketches and write technical reports
- Interpret specifications, prepare contracts, estimate costs and materials
- Completing documentation packages, drawing sets, examine drawings for conformity and errors
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- College/University education in Mechanical engineering
- 1-2 years experience in Hydraulic, Military and or Aerospace industry would be an asset
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Residency in order to qualify under the Control Goods Program Canada
- Proficient in Catia V5R20 and Autocad Inventor
- High level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
- Highly proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word. Knowledge of Lotus Notes an asset.
- Machining, welding and brazing knowledge
- Tube bending and processing knowledge
- Assembly processing knowledge
- Lean Manufacturing as asset
- English fluency with excellent oral and written communication skills a must. Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people, including clients, contractors, designers, directors and plant operators
This position is a contract to permanent within 6 months of hire depending on success in the role.
