Purpose of Position

The Marketing Communications (MarCom) team uses expertise, creativity, and innovation to drive growth for Trojan Technologies. The Marketing Communications Specialist works with the MarCom team to identify and implement marketing strategies and initiatives to develop and strengthen relationships with Trojan customers (current and potential) through programs such as customer satisfaction surveying, lead generation, content development, marketing automation and email marketing.

This Marketing Communications Specialist role also includes primary responsibility for trade shows and events, with the successful candidate being responsible for all necessary planning, coordination and execution.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and execute conferences, trade shows and sponsorships to support business growth and customer retention objectives.
  • Develop & manage the critical path for each event to ensure all activities are completed accurately, on time and within budget.
  • Manage Trade Show/Events/Sponsorships budget and deliverables as set-out in the annual plan, contracting with outside providers as required.
  • Manage, optimize and expand customer satisfaction (data collection) programs
  • Working closely with Market Managers, Product Managers, and Sales Teams, develop and execute Campaigns, including customer-facing programs and materials, advertising, email, PR, web content, social media, national and regional trade shows, etc.
  • Work with marketing team to create and implement demand creation plans.
  • For assigned Campaigns, manage leads process including leads qualification, distribution, tracking and ROI analysis.
  • Consistently monitor the ongoing success of marketing activities based on clear metrics, make adjustments to plans when needed to optimize results.
  • Interface with internal and external agencies, designers, and developers.
  • Enter and track budget and expenses, including monitoring and submitting invoices for approval and payment.

 

Background and Skill

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years sales / marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully market and sell technical / complex products or solutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational and analytical skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of the English language.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
  • Experience with Salesforce, CRM software, marketing automation, content management systems (WordPress), email software considered an asset.
  • Ability to learn new applications, as required.
